Time 2 Talk Teacher Training

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Time 2 Talk is a secondary school package, that covers a range of sessions including, domestic abuse, healthy relationships, sexual violence, cyber bullying, conflict and communication and much more. The Time 2 Talk teacher training support teachers and school staff to build their skills and knowledge in delivering sessions to children in such areas.

During the course you will have access to 8 modules. Each module is broken down into easy to access lessons which cover a range of topics, as described in the learning outcomes below.

The modules are an introduction into domestic abuse and sexual violence to build your knowledge and skills in delivering Time 2 Talk school package to children.

You will gain skills and learn about domestic abuse and sexual violence as well as covering topics, such as; impacts and indicators of abuse, rape culture, dealing with disclosures, safeguarding, recognising risk and onward referrals.

Each module ends with a short quiz, in order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in each final multiple choice quiz.

CERTIFICATION

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• To recognise and define the different types of domestic abuse including power and control.
• To develop an awareness of the dynamics and magnitude of rape, sexual assault and a brief insight into rape trauma syndrome.
• Develop an understanding around rape culture and victim blaming and challenge behaviours and beliefs.
• To understand its impact and presenting indicators of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
• Develop confidence and skills when dealing with disclosures of domestic abuse, and an insight into trauma informed approach.
• Gain skills and awareness in safeguarding and domestic abuse.
• Recognising risk and safety planning
