COURSE DESCRIPTION
Throughout this course, you will be provided with information about sexual violence, rape and sexual assault. You will learn how to identify the different types of sexual offences, and the reactions that victims and survivors may display. You will also learn how to develop your skills in order to support victims and survivors of sexual violence, alongside learning about what support services are available to victims and survivors of sexual violence.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
- To develop an awareness of the dynamics and magnitude of rape and sexual assault
- Gain an awareness of the law, sexual offences and forensics related to sexual violence
- To recognize the myths and realities faced by victims and survivors of serious sexual assaults
- To be able to recognize the reactions to rape and sexual assault, and gain a brief insight into rape trauma syndrome
- Develop confidence and skills when dealing with disclosures of rape, sexual assault and abuse
- Learn how to support a sexual violence victim
- Gain an awareness and knowledge of role of an ISVA
